The 10 2019 Technology trends for Gartner
Gartner developed and disseminated the list of the 10 technology trends of 2019, some of which were already in 2018.
- Autonomous devices;
- analytical augmented;
- New Desarolladore using artificial intelligences;
- Digital twins;
- Enhanced computing;
- immersive experiences;
- Blockchain;
- Intelligent spaces;
- Privacy and ethics;
- Quantum computing.
Among Gartner's 2019 technology trends we can see how artificial intelligence is key and is everywhere and will be the basis of almost everything we do in technology.
Standalone devices
Self-contained vehicles, robots, drones, artificial intelligence allows all these autonomous objects to perform functions that man used to do. In addition these autonomous devices interact with the environment and with people. According to Gartner, in 2021, 10% of the vehicles will be parking the "Autonomus things" would help in various levels and form:
- Adding capacities from minimal assistance to full autonomy in determianadas activities/situations.
- As far as coordination is concerned, they will be able to work in isolation, connected and even in a coordinated way.
- Also the artificial intelligence can be incorporated from a very low level, to a very complejopor example to dispose Devun army of intelligent robots
Augmented analytics
With augmented analytics, Garner understands an approach to automating data comprehension through the use of automatic learning and Natural Language processing (NLP) technologies. If data scientist's professionals have been working on analyzing the data so far, Gartner believes that in 2019 there will be a number of instruments to analyze the data. Thus, more people will be able to analyze them and the citizen data scientists will be formed. This is an intermediate figure among the technicians (the data scientists) and the citizen who analyzes the data thanks to the analytical systems with prescriptive and predictive functions. The data, but above all the information obtained thanks to these, will be integrated more and more in business applications, in the departments, for example, of the human resources, marketing, sales, assistance to the customer and finances.
New developers using Artificial intelligence
Artificial intelligence can be used to develop applications to automate the process of data analysis or testing. According to Gartner, for 2022, there will be co-developers of artificial intelligence in the teams of at least 40% of the new application development projects.
Digital twins
Digital twins are a digital representation of a physical object. These copies have their own lives and interact with one another in the digital world. For 2021 the digital twins will be used by half of the big companies with the advantage of an improvement and a 10% efficiency. This is the estimate made by Gartner.
Edge Computing-Power computation
The edges are terminal devices used by people or incorporated in the surrounding world. The term Edge computing indicates: "The elaboration of the information on the edge of the network, where the data is produced". According to Gartner, very soon edge computing and cloud computing will be complementary models. In addition, advanced artificial intelligence and analysis storage, computing, and functionality capabilities will give edge devices greater capacity.
Immersive experiences
Companies are experimenting with more and more immersive technologies. In 2020, according to Gartner, these will be experienced by 70% of companies, but only 25% of these applications will be launched in production.
Blockchain
The Blockchain will be able to change the industrial reality making it more transparent, lowering the costs, reducing the transaction times and eliminating the central authorities that underlie the current model. Gartner's list of technological trends illustrates how Blockchain technologies will also dominate 2019, but the impact of this technology will only be noticeable in about ten years: For 2030, the Blockchain has created 3.1 billion dollars in commercial value.
Smart spaces
Smart spaces in English – are physical or digital environments populated by people and with a lot of technology development. They are characterized by increasing autonomy, intelligence and connection. They follow the example of smart cities and, according to Gartner, are increasingly important becoming in an integral part of our daily lives. Smart spaces could help with issues such as reducing global warming, for this reason, the European Union has created a programme involving several cities.
Privacy and ethics
The issues of digital ethics and privacy are very current: individuals, Governments, organizations are increasingly concerned about the use of their data. For this reason, both governments and companies are increasingly facing this problem – as we are already seeing with the GRPD. The issue of privacy is connected to the ethics and the trust of the clients. As a result, all the positions an organization assumes about privacy will have to be consistent with their behavior. Gartner expects that for 2021, organizations that have underestimated adequate privacy measures. They will pay 100% more of the conformance costs compared to their competitors who have not underestimated the problem.
Quantum computing
The latest trend of 2019 refers to quantum computing. If today only 1% of the world's organizations allocate a budget to quantum computing, for 2023 the trend will change: investments are going to look at 20% of the organizations. Quantum computers allow the resolution of problems that are difficult to solve through a traditional approach or require long resolution times with a traditional algorithm. Quantum computers find their perfect habitat in the military, automobiles, insurance, financial and pharmaceutical industries, in all those companies where quality control is essential.
